Due to high fire hazards related to outdoor burning, the Bedford Fire Department has issued a effective on November 11, 2022 until further notice. This is because of dry weather conditions and increasing winds both in Bedford and around the county. There have been several wildland and field fires reported over the past few days which these fires are extremely hazardous to life and destructive to property. These fires can require multiple fire departments to respond to these incidents causing delays in response to other emergencies. We will evaluate this temporary ban daily; however, until lifted, please refrain from burning until further notice to avoid additional damage.
