IMPD Aggravated Assault Detectives Make Arrest in November Homicide

INDIANAPOLIS-IMPD aggravated assault detectives arrested 65-year-old Robert Reed Jr. for his alleged involvement in the November homicide.

On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, just before 4:00 p.m., IMPD North District officers were dispatched to 3514 Blue Spruce Ln., on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located an adult female, later identified as 59-year-old Sherry Wolfe, who sustained injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s). Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived and transported Wolfe to an area hospital in critical condition.

IMPD aggravated assault detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. Preliminary information led investigators to believe this incident was the result of a domestic disturbance.

The investigation continued and detectives were able to identify Reed as a suspect in the incident. Thanks to the outstanding work by the Violent Crimes Unit, Reed was located on November 9, 2022, and arrested without further incident for attempted murder.

The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to identify and collect potential forensic evidence. On November 10, 2022, Wolfe was unfortunately pronounced deceased by medical staff. The Marion County Coroner's Office determined the cause of death to be homicide.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) will review the case and make the final charging decision.
