Newark Public Safety Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured suspect and vehicle in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday, November 13, 2022.
 
At approximately 8:40 p.m., Police responded to Cleveland Avenue near Bayard Place on a call of an armed robbery. A woman was approached by a Black male who exited a white vehicle before pulling on her purse and gesturing that he had a weapon in his pocket. The suspect fled westbound on Cleveland Avenue toward Sanford Avenue in the vehicle after taking the victim’s purse and other personal property.
 
Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect. He is described as 18-25 years old, between 5’2’ and 5’8” tall, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, jeans, a ski mask, gloves, and Nike sneakers.
 
Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
