Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.

On November 9 at approximately 2:52 p.m., members of the Street Crimes Unit were in the 400 block of West 23^rd Street when they observed 31-year-old Derrick Grant-Higgin acting in a suspicious manner.  When police attempted to make contact with him, he fled into a nearby residence.  Moments later, police were able to take Grant-Higgin into custody without incident.  Police recovered a loaded 7.65 caliber handgun. 

Grant-Higgin was charged with the following offenses:

• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)
• Trespassing (1^st Degree)
