Police Seek the Public's Help in Identifying Auto Burglary Suspects
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect, accompanied by four other suspects, in connection with the burglary of a white Mercedes-Benz, on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
At approximately 7:25 p.m., the male victim and four other individuals entered the victim’s 2014 Mercedes-Benz CL2, which was parked in the area of Winans Avenue near Bergen Street. Once inside the vehicle, the suspects closed the doors, stayed inside momentarily, and then exited the vehicle. No valuables were removed from the vehicle, but its glove compartment was left open by the suspects.
One of the suspects is described as a heavy-set Black male with dread locs or braids. He was wearing a skull cap, a graphic hooded sweatshirt depicting the word “Trust” on the front, and white Jordan sneakers. This suspect also walks with a limp.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information on the identity of this suspect or his accomplices to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
