Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with a business robbery that occurred on Monday, October 31, 2022.

Just before 3:20 a.m., the suspect entered the mini-mart of the Sunoco gas station located at 1400 McCarter Highway. The suspect hopped over the counter, pointed a silver revolver at both store clerks, and demanded cash from the register. The suspect then ordered the victims to lie on the ground as he fled on foot from the location. He was last seen heading westbound on 4th Avenue from McCarter Highway.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect. He is described as a black male, wearing a black Puma hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black and yellow sneakers.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
