Driver arrested for possession of a loaded firearm and narcotics
On Monday, November 14, 2022 at approximately 2:25 pm, an officer patrolling the 1200-block of N. Dutton Ave. saw a vehicle with an equipment violation. The officer conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with the driver, he saw an open can of “White Claw” in the vehicle. The officer had the driver step out of the vehicle so he could ensure there were no additional open containers of alcohol in the vehicle and to make sure the driver was not intoxicated. When searching for additional alcohol-related contraband, the officer located a Glock 17 9mm pistol wedged in-between the driver’s seat and center console. The gun was loaded with 9 hollow-point bullets. A magazine loaded with another 8 hollow-point rounds was found in the glove compartment. The officer also located a small zippered coin purse on the floorboard of the driver’s seat. The officer examined the contents of the coin purse and found 7 bindles of suspected cocaine. Another bindle was found in the pants pocket of the suspect. The total package weight of the individually packaged cocaine bindles was 9.9 grams. After further investigation, the officer came to the determination the driver possessed the cocaine with the intention of selling the narcotics.
Rudolfo Silva, a 33-year-old Santa Rosa resident, was arrested and booked into county jail for numerous felonies related to firearm and narcotics possession.
