Convicted Felon Found to be in Possession of a Firearm and Narcotics

INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed, Possession of Ammunition by a Prohibited Person
LOCATION: 18000 block of Bear Valley Road in the Town of Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Leonard Rice, a 35-year-old resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 10:05 a.m., Deputy Delgado with the Apple Valley Police Department conducted a proactive pedestrian check in the 18000 block of Bear Valley Road. The suspect, later identified as convicted felon Leonard Rice, was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and suspected fentanyl.
Rice was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person. Rice is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
