On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Green Bay Police were called to Mr. Ernst’s apartment in the 1300 block of Packerland Drive for a welfare check and found him deceased. Shortly after, a national alert was issued by Green Bay Police as a vehicle registered to Mr. Ernst was discovered missing. It was believed that Anderson may have taken the vehicle, which eventually tracked to Alabama by license plate readers. Anderson was taken into custody on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, by the Helena Police Department in Alabama and U.S. Marshals. He is currently jailed in Alabama, where he is charged in a separate crime.

Update: Caleb Anderson Faces Charge of First-Degree Intentional Homicide; Death of 65-Year-Old Patrick Ernst
The Brown County District Attorney’s Office has filed its criminal complaint on Caleb Anderson, 23, of Caspian, Michigan, a suspect in the murder of Patrick Ernst, 65, of Green Bay.
The Brown County District Attorney’s Office filed the following charge on Thursday, November 17, 2022, with the Brown County Clerk of Court:
- First-Degree Intentional Homicide
