UPDATE: DOUBLE MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED BY WEST COVINA POLICE

On March 21, 2023 at approximately 10:30 a.m. 19 year old Michael Antonio Mariano Jr. was arrested for the murder of 22 year old Maliki Faust and 19 year old Majarion Faust that occurred on November 2, 2022. Detectives from the West Covina Police Department and the Pacific Southwest Fugitive Task Force located Mariano at an apartment complex in the City of Corona. Mariano’s arrest came days after the arrest of his sister, Lorraine Fisher, who was arrested and booked for suspicion of accessory after the fact. Fisher has since been released while detectives continue to investigate the case. Marino was booked for murder at the West Covina Police Department and is currently being held without bail pending a criminal complaint being filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Due to the active and ongoing investigation West Covina Police will not be elaborating on the evidence or the specifics of the case.

On Wednesday November 2, 2022 at 10:45 pm two brothers, Maliki Foust (22 years old) and Majarion Foust (19 years old), were both shot multiple times as they sat in the carport parking lot of the Walnut Ridge Apartment Complex near the 3400 Block of South Sentous Avenue in the City of West Covina. There was also a third 21 year old male present during the shooting that was not injured and was able to escape the area. The identity of the surviving male will not be released. Over the past two weeks detectives worked diligently at collecting evidence, corroborating witness statements and working various leads. Based on the evidence, detectives are confident the person who murdered Maliki and Majarion is their cousin, 19 year old Michael Mariano Jr.
There is an arrest warrant for Michael Mariano Jr. and efforts are being made to take him into custody. Detectives encourage Mariano to turn himself in at the West Covina Police Department or any other police or sheriff’s department. The CCTV surveillance video of the shooting is being released to show what occurred during the incident. Mariano is considered armed and dangerous and should not be confronted. Citizens are also encouraged to call the police if they see or know the whereabouts of Mariano. Mariano is known to frequent the Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino County areas.
