Single Vehicle Injury Crash 
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports, on 11/18/2022 at approximately 1834 hours his office responded to a single vehicle injury crash involving a truck pulling a camper. This crash occurred on U.S. 12 Hwy near Cassopolis Rd., in Mason Township, Cass County Michigan. Investigation showed that David Schrader (50 years of Joplin, MO) was heading West on U.S. 12 Hwy. Mr. Schrader was avoiding another traffic crash and lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road and struck a tree. Mr. Schrader was transported by Porter Township EMS to Elkhart General Hospital for injuries sustained in the traffic crash.
Weather and road conditions are believed to be a factor in the crash. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be involved in this crash. Mr. Schrader was wearing a seat belt.
