Two Arizona Men Arrested When Traffic Stop Leads to the Discovery of a Firearm and Narcotics
DATE/TIME: Saturday, November 19, 2022, at approximately 4:01 a.m.
INCIDENT: PC 29800(A)(1)- Felon in Possession of Firearm, PC 30305(A)(1)- Felon in Possession of Ammunition, CVC 10851(A)-Vehicle Theft, PC 459-Burglary, H&S 11377(A)- Possession of a Controlled Substance & H&S 11364(A)- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
LOCATION: Needles Highway & North K Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Jesus Elias-Perez, 27-Years Old, Resident of Phoenix, AZ
Julio Beltran-Berrelleza, 26-Years Old, Resident of Chandler, AZ
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Saturday, November 19, 2022, at approximately 4:01 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department came in contact with Jesus Elias-Perez and Julio Beltran-Berelleza during a traffic enforcement stop, near the intersection of Needles Highway and North K Street, for vehicle code violations.
During the traffic stop investigation, Elias-Perez was found to be in violation of PC 29800(A)(1)- Felon in Possession of a Firearm and PC 30305(A)(1)- Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Elias-Perez was consequently arrested and transported to the West Valley Detention Center for booking. During further investigation, it was also discovered that Elias-Perez had unlawfully entered a storage yard, and stole the vehicle he was driving. He was booked on additional charges of PC 459-Burglary and CVC 10851(A)-Vehicle Theft. Elias-Perez remains in custody with a combined bail amount of $100,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
Beltran-Berrelleza was found to be in violation of H&S 11377(A)- Possession of a Controlled Substance and H&S 11364(A)- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Beltran-Berrelleza was consequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Beltran-Berrelleza was later issued a citation and released from custody, with a future court date.
