AVOID Springfield Avenue between 9 am to 5 pm from 11/28 to 12/2. One lane will be closed due to road work.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is assisting Carroll County with a single lane closure on Springfield Avenue (MD 851) as part of a sewer and waterline improvement project between Spout Hill Road and Walnut Avenue in Sykesville.
Starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 28, the county’s contractor, Rivers Construction Group, Limited based in Jessup, will close one lane of Springfield Avenue. The lane closure is necessary so crews can safely install a new sewer manhole and pipes underneath Springfield Avenue. A flagging operation will be used to maintain traffic.
The schedule is Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. MDOT SHA expects the work to be complete this spring.
