Police Seek the Public's Assistance in Identifying Persons of Interest in a Shooting

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s assistance in identifying two persons of interest in a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
 
At approximately 2:45 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of North 5th Street on a call of shots fired. Responding officers located spent shell casings on the scene.  
 
Detectives investigating this incident are seeking help in identifying two persons of interest. The first is described as a male with a medium brown complexion, stocky build with facial hair. He was observed on surveillance video wearing a light colored hat, light colored short sleeve shirt with a dark colored graphic design on the front, light colored shorts, and light colored sneakers.
 
The second person is described as a male with a medium brown complexion, stocky build, dark hair, and dark facial hair.  He was observed on surveillance video wearing a short sleeve dark shirt.
 
Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of either of these two individuals to call the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
