PC 32: ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT
LOCATION: 26800 Block of Sheffield Lane, Helendale
SUSPECT: Christina Marie Padilla, 37-years-old, Resident of Victorville
Phillip Gomez, 41-years-old, Resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, November 24, 2022, at 10:31pm, deputies responded to a 911 call in the 26800 block of Sheffield Lane in Helendale. According to the caller, they heard a gunshot and then saw a female shoot a handgun into the air. The female and a male adult then went inside the residence and the male was carrying the gun.
Deputies arrived at the residence and located subjects inside fitting the descriptions the caller provided. After a thorough investigation, Christina Padilla and Phillip Gomez were arrested without incident. A search warrant was authored for the residence. Two fired cartridge casings were located on the driveway and a handgun registered to Phillip Gomez was found hidden in the couch.
Christina Marie Padilla and Phillip Gomez were booked at High Desert Detention Center for willful discharge of a firearm with gross negligence. Gomez was booked on an additional charge of accessory after the fact. Both suspects posted bail and are due to appear in court on January 11, 2023.
