BE WEATHER AWARE for the rest of the evening and into the early hours of the morning
We dont expect it to be much longer before Lauderdale County is put under a tornado watch. This system has the north west part of the county as Moderate category, and the rest of the county as Enhanced.
We are expecting a long duration of storms to come through our area tonight. We will see Strong Thunderstoms with some servere. We could see winds up to 80 mph and hail could be large. We could see a violent tornado in our area and could be a long track tornado. This storm will be coming through after the sun goes down. This poses a more dangerous situation because of visability. We could see up to 3" of rain and that can cause some flash flooding in low lying areas.
Have your emergency plan ready and be ready to activate your plan. Prepare for the worse and bring in, or secure all loose items around your home. Know where your safe spot is and be prepared to go to it in a moments notice. We will continue to push out alerts as this storm system moves through our area! If you have an emergency, call 911.
