Wilmington Police have arrested two men on gun and drug charges.

On November 23 at approximately 4:37 p.m., members of the Street Crimes Unit were in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street when they observed an illegally parked vehicle that was occupied.  Police made contact with the occupants, 31-year-old Daniel Wing of New Castle, and 30-year-old Shannon Richardson.  Following a brief investigation, police recovered a 9 bags of heroin, 2.4 grams of cocaine, 8 grams of marijuana, and a loaded .40 caliber handgun.  Wing was found to have several outstanding capiases for his arrest. 

Wing was charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations and his outstanding capiases:

• Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited  - 3 counts
• Receiving Stolen Property over $1,500
• Possession of a Controlled Substance – 2 counts

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $36,525 secured bail.

Richardson was issued a summons for Possession of Marijuana.
