Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with a business burglary that occurred on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
 
Just before 2:45 a.m., Police responded to Springfield Tire, located at 622 Springfield Avenue, on a call of a burglary. Surveillance video from the business shows that the suspect climbed the fence on the South 15th Street side and used a red bolt cutter to cut the padlocks off the shop’s exterior lift gate. The suspect then entered the business through the front door and stole $300.00 from the cash register. He then exited the business through the front door before again climbing the fence on the South 15th Street side and fleeing, walking northbound.
 
Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect, described as a Black male, 5’5” to 5’7” tall, wearing a black North Face jacket, a white shirt with a graphic design on the front, and red sweat pants. The suspect also wore white Jordan sneakers, a black Nike ski mask, and black gloves.
 
Director Fragé urges anyone with information on the identity of this suspect to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
