Two Suspects Arrested Following a Traffic Stop on a Stolen Vehicle in Apple Valley

LOCATION: Apple Valley Road & Pamlico Road in the Town of Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): 1) 17-year-old Female Juvenile, Resident of Adelanto
2) Lameen Cortis, a 44-years-old, Resident of Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): 61-year-old Male
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, November 19, 2022, at 4:01 p.m., Deputy Grissom with the Apple Valley Police Department observed an older silver Honda Civic traveling north on Apple Valley Road near Pamlico Road. A records check of the vehicle confirmed it had been reported stolen out of Victorville on November 28, 2022.
Deputy Grissom conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 17-year-old female juvenile, and two passengers. The female juvenile and passenger, Lameen Cortis, were found to have active felony warrants. The female juvenile was arrested for grand theft auto and her felony warrant and booked at the High Desert Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center. Cortis was arrested on his felony warrant and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
