Due to fires in Union City and West New York, residents may see and smell smoke due to heavy winds.
The Office of Emergency Management advises residents who smell smoke to check their surroundings and to only call 911 in case of emergency as dispatchers are experiencing heavy call volumes.
The Hoboken Fire Department is responding to both municipalities to provide aid.
