Wilmington Police have arrested two men on gun charges.

On November 30 at approximately 6:06 p.m., members of the Street Crimes Unit were in the 1200 block of West 4^th Street when they made contact with 26-year-old Da’quan Brown and 23-year-old Baltazar Hiche, of Newport, acting in a suspicious manner.  Following a brief investigation, police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun and a loaded .22 caliber handgun that was reported stolen.  Both subjects were taken into custody without incident.  Brown was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Brown was charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrant:

• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – 2 counts
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $30,000 cash-only bail.

Hiche was charged with the following offenses:

• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $13,000 cash-only bail.
