Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges following an investigation.

On December 1 at approximately 7:48 p.m., members of the Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of North Walnut Street.  Police took 18-year-old Marckia Wilkerson into custody without incident and recovered a loaded .380 caliber handgun and 38.36 grams of marijuana.  Wilkerson was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Wilkerson was charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrant:

• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – 2 counts
• Possession of a Firearm while also in Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Possession of Marijuana
