INCIDENT: PC417(A)(2) - Brandishing a Weapon in Public and
VC 14601.1(A) - Driving on a Suspended License
LOCATION: 1600 Block of Washington Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): David Tomechko, 33-years old, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, December 5, 2022, at approximately 12:34 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to a call for service near the 1600 block of Washington Street. Deputies immediately responded to scene and the schools were put on lock down for safety reasons.
During the investigation, deputies contacted David Tomechko who was found to be in violation of PC 417(A)(2) - Brandishing a Weapon in Public. Tomechko was also found to have an active warrant for VC 14601.1(A) - Driving on a Suspended License. Tomechko was arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. The lockdown was lifted and there were no threats or injuries at the school.
Tomechko was later issued a citation and released from the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a future court date.
