Amarillo Police looking for suspect in possible attempted child abduction.

On Saturday December 3rd at 6:45 PM, Amarillo Police officers were called to the 4100 block of Cimmaron Avenue on an attempted child abduction. The victim was approached by an unknown male who forcefully grabbed the child and attempted to leave. The victim was able to escape the suspect’s grasp and get to safety. The suspect was described as an unknown race male being approximately 5’10” tall and weighing 180 pounds. The victim told officers that the suspect was wearing dark colored clothing and a mask. 
 
This has been an ongoing investigation by patrol officers and detectives since the report of the incident. Officers have spoken to multiple people and canvased the area looking for physical and possible video evidence of the event. Anyone with information that could help in this case is asked to contact the Amarillo Police Department Special Victim’s Unit.
