WEAPONS ARREST
Maple Shade, NJ

On 11/14/2022 at 8:55 PM the Maple Shade Police Department was dispatched to the area of Washington Drive in the Fox Meadow Apartment Complex for the report of shots fired. Upon arrival nine (9) 9mm shell casings were located in the area of Building 35 on Washington Drive. There were no shooting victims found in the area and it didn’t appear the shots were fired at anything in particular.
With the assistance of available video surveillance, officers were able to determine that a male exited an apartment unit on Washington Drive and seconds later nine (9) shots were heard being fired, no other individuals were observed in the area of the shooting at the time of the incident. The male is then seen walking to the parking lot of Washington Drive entering a vehicle and leaving the complex. Further investigation identified the male as Omar Urbina II, 32 years old of Centennial Village in Camden, NJ.
A warrant was issued against Urbina, charging him with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (2^nd Degree), Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose (2^nd degree) and Certain Persons not to Possess a Weapon (2^nd Degree). On 12/1/2022 Urbina was arrested without incident by the U.S. Marshalls Task Force on Gardenia Drive in Fox Meadow, he was committed to the Burlington County Jail pending a detention hearing.
The investigation was led by Detective Brian Martino of the Maple Shade Police Department with assistance from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
All persons are assumed innocent until they have been proven guilty.
