Convictions on Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office cases during the most recent two week Superior Court Trial Term,
During the most recent term of Superior Court in Rutherford County, Michelle Wilson was found guilty by a Rutherford County jury on December 7, 2022, of Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny After Breaking and Entering, three counts of Felony Larceny of a Firearm, Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Felony Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Felony Possession of Burglary Tools, and Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods. The jury also found the defendant Guilty of being a Habitual Felon. She was sentenced to 83-112 months in the NC Department of Adult Corrections.
On December 7, 2022 during a term of Superior Court in Rutherford County, Shannon Martin plead guilty to two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Government Official, Resisting a Public Officer, Larceny of a Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance on Prison or Jail Premises, Breaking and Entering, Larceny After Breaking and Entering, Threatening a Court Officer, and Possession of a Weapon by a Prisoner. The Defendant also admitted to being a Habitual Felon.
He was sentenced to two consecutive active sentences of 87-117 months, for a minimum active sentence of 14.5 years and a maximum sentence of 19.5 years in the NC Department of Adult Corrections. The majority of these charges originated during a standoff with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office that occurred on January 16, 2021, at which time he fired several rounds at deputies and other officers with assisting agencies. We continue to be thankful there were no injuries to any officers as a result of this event.
On December 8, 2022, a Rutherford County Jury found Christopher Martin guilty of Felony Breaking and Entering, and Felony Larceny After Breaking/Entering. After the verdict was returned, the Defendant plead guilty to the status of Habitual Breaking and Entering. He was sentenced by the Court to 25-42 months, suspended for 24 months of supervised probation, including an 8-month active split in the North Carolina Department of Corrections.
