Wilmington Police investigation results in arrest in connection with October shooting: 
A Wilmington Police investigation has resulted in an arrest in connection with an October shooting.
On October 21, 2022 at approximately 11:14 a.m. police responded to the 1600 block of North Pine Street in response to a shooting that had occurred. Police located a 28-year-old male gunshot victim who was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The case was assigned to Detective Michael Hayman of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Hayman identified 26-year-old Kyaire Jones as a suspect. An arrest warrant was secured for the suspect who was taken into custody without incident on December 5.
Jones was charged with the following offenses:
- Attempted Murder – 1st Degree
- Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (3 counts)
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Wearing a Disguise during the Commission of a Felony
- Discharging a Firearm on a City Street
