Flood Advisory until 07:30PM Saturday

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of central California and northern California, including the following counties, in central California, Monterey and San Benito. In northern California, Santa Clara.

* WHEN...Until 730 PM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 511 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Salinas, Hollister, Seaside, Monterey, Marina, Jamesburg, Big Sur Village, Soledad, Pacific Grove, Gonzales, Carmel-By-The- Sea, Carmel Valley Village, Chualar, Spreckels, Boronda, Ridgemark, Prunedale, San Clemente Dam, Cachagua Near The Los Padres Dam and Castroville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
