South Brunswick National Night Out Celebration Ranked 2nd in Nation

The South Brunswick Police Department’s 2022 National Night Out celebration was recently ranked 2nd in the nation by the National Association of Town Watch, thanks to the outstanding efforts of our sponsors, volunteers, and of course the residents who attended!

After taking a two year break due to COVID, South Brunswick Police Department Chief of Police Raymond J. Hayducka gave the green light to host a National Night Out celebration this past August 2nd, and the community responded with an amazing outpouring of support that once again brought together our police officers, residents, businesses, and guests for an important evening, during which we bonded, shared concerns and successes, and worked together to create a better South Brunswick.

“It is only with the help and support of our entire community that the South Brunswick Police Department is able to provide the level of service our community members deserve,” said Chief Hayducka. “I would personally like to thank everyone involved in the event for making it our best celebration in our history.” Chief Hayducka went on to praise the volunteers who came out to help facilitate the event, and the officers who worked tirelessly to create a welcoming and stimulating environment for all our attendees. “And of course, without the immense support of some key businesses in the township, the event would not have been possible,” said Chief Hayducka.

Major sponsors for the event included:

  • Diamond Sponsor:
    • UPS
  • Platinum Sponsors:
    • Dayton Toyota
    • Wakefern
    • Hermann Distribution
    • Fleetsource Leasing
    • Aurobindo Pharma
  • Gold Sponsors:
    • Coca-Cola
    • Max Fitness/Playa Bowls

Over 6,500 people attended this year’s event.  Staff and volunteers served approximately 2500 hot dogs and 500 vegan dogs, 1500 bottles of water, 2000 ice creams and ice pops, and 4000 bags of popcorn and chips.  Attendees enjoyed music and dance, rides and bounce houses, engaging displays by the police department, FBI, fire departments and first aid squads, games and prizes, and a tug-of-war competition with the police department, fire departments, and first aid squads.

Chief Raymond Hayducka expressed his gratitude regarding the special partnership between the South Brunswick Police Department and the community.  “Special events like this truly showcase the unique and special bond our community and police department share.  We take great pride in serving and protecting the residents of South Brunswick, and tonight they showed us their support and appreciation.  This special community and police partnership helps continue to make our township a safer place to live.”

“The community/police partnerships nurtured during Night Out will continue to benefit the town and its residents for years to come, providing safe crime-free and drug-free activities, and transforming our developments into neighborhoods, and our town into a true community. We eagerly look forward to participating in National Night Out 2023,” said Chief Hayducka.
