Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.

On December 10 at approximately 10:37 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force conducted a vehicle stop in the 1200 block of Elm Street.  The driver, identified as 21-year-old Edwin Rivera-Millet, fled from the vehicle.  Police quickly took Rivera-Millet into custody without incident.  Police recovered a loaded .45 caliber handgun that was reported stolen, and 7.9 grams of marijuana. 

Rivera-Millet was charged with the following offenses in addition to several traffic violations:

• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
• Receiving a Stolen Firearm
• Resisting Arrest
• Possession of Marijuana
