WINTER WEATHER EVENT – Thursday, December 15, 2022
A winter storm event beginning with a wintry mix of precipitation is expected to begin in our area Thursday afternoon (today). Wintry precipitation is expected to change over to steady moderate rain in the early evening. The rain will continue with showers into Friday afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to stay above freezing today Thursday into Friday (34-46 degrees)
Snow, ice and freezing rain will develop this afternoon and a coating to a half-inch of accumulation is expected. There may be higher amounts in the northern areas of the county. A changeover to all rain will occur and 1 to 1.5 inches of total rainfall is expected.
Winds will be NE 10-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
The winds may cause down tree limbs, resulting in power outages.
