Narrative:

On December 8, 2022, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit (PCU) arrested Cameron Dusablon and Dakota Daniels at their residence in Canoga Park for outstanding arrest warrants related to violations of their CDCR Parole and Ventura County Probation supervision conditions.

On November 17, 2022, East Valley Patrol Station deputies responded to the 5000 block of Evanwood Avenue in the unincorporated area of Oak Park reference a possible overdose victim. Deputies discovered the victim was obviously deceased and located evidence at the scene that indicted the subject had ingested fentanyl prior to their death. PCU detectives investigated the case and developed information that Cameron Dusablon was a suspect who had probably furnished fentanyl to the victim.

Detectives determined that Dusablon and his girlfriend Dakota Daniels were living in the Canoga Park area of Los Angeles County. Dusablon and Daniels were both currently on Supervised Release through Ventura County Probation and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and had active arrest warrants for failing to comply with the conditions of their release terms.

On December 8, 2022, PCU detectives, with the assistance of thousand Oaks DEU detectives, served the arrest warrants at their residence and took both subjects into custody without incident. During their arrest, they were found in possession of 35 grams of fentanyl. Additional evidence linking Dusablon as the source of supply of fentanyl to the victim in the fatal overdose in Oak Park was recovered.

Dusablon was arrested for the felony warrant and booked into the Ventura County Jail without the possibility of bail. He is currently in custody with his next hearing date scheduled for December 29, 2022, at 1340 hours. Daniels was booked into custody at the Ventura County jail for the felony warrant and 11351 HS- Possession for Sales of a Controlled Substance. Her CDCR Parole hold was dropped, and she is currently out of custody. Further arrests related to the fatal overdose are anticipated.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is an active member of the County Opioid Abuse
Suppression Taskforce (COAST). We have partnered with Ventura County Behavioral Health in
