DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Best Buy for a shoplifting. The suspect fled from the store with a backpack and two camera lenses that had a total value of $2,799.97. Officers canvassed the area but could not locate the suspect. Ptl. Borup conducted the investigation. Approximately 45 minutes later, while back on patrol, he observed the suspect walking down Clarksville Rd. Ptl. Borup stopped the suspect and found him in possession of the merchandise he had stolen. The suspect provided officers with a fake name, but further investigation determined that he was Lovell Morgan. Morgan was also found to have two warrants for his arrest from Camden. Morgan was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending Court dates with Mercer County Superior Court and Camden.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Target for an individual who was being detained by store Asset Protection for shoplifting. Investigation found that Dustin Samiell had used the self-checkout to scan some items to purchase, but failed to scan $194.49 worth of additional merchandise. After passing all points of sale without attempting to pay for the unscanned merchandise, he was detained. Samiell was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to a crash on U.S. Route 1 and Farber Rd. Investigation found that a gray Nissan sedan driven by Tyrone Mease hit the rear of a red Nissan sedan that was driving down the road. Mease was determined to be DWI, processed at WWPD Headquarters, and released pending future dates with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Wegmans for a shoplifting in progress. Ptl. E. McQuade #597 arrived on scene to find that the shoplifter had already been detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation found that Aurelia Bryant selected a few bottles of liquor, put them into a large shopping bag, and paid for the items. Bryant then returned to liquor aisle, selected more bottles of liquor, put them into her bag, and exited the store without paying for the additional bottles valued at $557.78. Bryant was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

                                             Fraudulent Use of Credit Cards
 
DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  11/14/22  at  2:15 PM
 
LOCATION OCCURRED:  Marshalls, 3495 U.S. Route 1

DETAILS:  The victim of a theft reported that she was shopping at Marshalls when she was approached by a female who asked her if she spoke Spanish. She did not, but nevertheless, the woman started showing her a pair of pants and she tried to help her. The woman then abruptly walked away along with a male that was with her. About 10 minutes later, when the victim attempted to check out, she realized her wallet had been stolen. The victim had her purse in the top basket of her shopping cart, and believed that while she was distracted by the woman, her male companion took her wallet. A short time later, one of her stolen credit cards was used at Best Buy to try and make a purchase in the amount of $2,664.50.

LOCATION OCCURRED:  Online via phone app from Residence in Colonnade Pointe
 
OFFICER:  Ptl. C. Siani #117                    
 
DETAILS:  Ptl. Siani met with the victim at his residence in the Colonnade Pointe development. The victim reported the following; On September 5th, he met a woman online and began chatting with her on WhatsApp. A relationship developed remotely for the next couple of weeks, and the suspect was able to convince him to use a different crypto-currency exchange via a mobile app. The crypto exchange was doing well, so he so he continued to deposit more money via the app. When he called customer service about withdrawing some of his money from his account, he was told he had to deposit another $250,000.00 before he could do so. He called his “friend” about the issues he was having with the app/exchange and shortly thereafter, his counterfeit “BTCBOX” mobile app. stopped working. Over the course of approximately 6 weeks, the victim had deposited over a million dollars into the counterfeit crypto account before he realized he had been scammed.

Arrested: Aswin Nadamuniraghavan
                Resident of Pennington, NJ 08534
 
DETAILS:  Patrol Units responded to a crash on U.S. Route 1 involving an overturned vehicle. Investigation found that a Ford SUV being driven by Aswin Nadamuniraghavan hit the rear of a Honda SUV that was driving down the road. The impact caused the Honda to spin and then crash into the center barrier. The Ford SUV rolled over and back, then went off road where it struck a sign and a tree. Nadamuniraghavan was determined to be DWI, and he was transported to the hospital by West Windsor Division of Fire & Emergency Services for complaint of pain. Nadamuniraghavan was charged with DWI and has dates pending with West Windsor Municipal Court.

LOCATION OCCURRED:  Online via phone app from residence in The Terrace
 
OFFICER:  Ptl. A. Pollini #99                
 
DETAILS:  Ptl. Pollini met with a victim of fraud in the lobby of police headquarters. The victim reported the following; On September 8th, he received a message via Telegram (a texting app) promoting a crypto-currency investment company. He responded to the text, and subsequently downloaded an app called “Crypto”. He then downloaded another app on his phone called, “Capitall” directly from the “company” website. He proceeded to make deposits into his cypto account and watched his money “grow” to over a million dollars. When he went to withdraw his “earnings”, he was told he had to send $280,000.00 as commission before he could withdraw any of his money. He sent half of the money, but withheld the rest until he received his investment earnings. Several days passed, the investment earnings were never released, and his crypto investment apps stopped working. The victim claimed losses totaling over $700,000.00.
