Felon in Possession of Firearm

On 12/17/22 at 3:55 am, officers were sent to the 300 blk of E. Racine St. for a traffic accident.  Through the course of the investigation it was found the driver of the vehicle, Brock Chancy, was driving westbound on E. Racine, lost control, and slid into a fire hydrant.  He remained in the area where officers had contact with him. 
 
Chancy was subsequently arrested for OWI-1^st, and Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine.  A search of his backpack revealed a Smith and Wesson Semi-Automatic Pistol.  A records check indicated Chancy to be a convicted felon and disqualified from possessing firearms.  He is also on Probation for 1^st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, which involved his use of a firearm. 
 
Chancy was arrested on the below mentioned charges and held at the Rock County Jail pending his court appearance.
