Two- Vehicle Injury Crash
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports on 12/17/2022 at approximately 12:30pm, his office responded to a two-vehicle injury crash. This crash occurred on Redfield St., east of Batchelor Dr., Milton Township, Cass County, Michigan.
Investigation showed Shawn Bennett, 35-year-old, South Bend, Indiana resident, was traveling westbound on Redfield St. Shawn Bennet also had Karen Bennett, 63-year-old, Mishawaka, Indiana resident, in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Kyle Rohdy, 35-year-old, Dowagiac, Michigan resident was traveling eastbound on Redfield St. Shawn Bennet lost control of the vehicle and traveled into the oncoming lane of traffic colliding into Rohdy.
Seatbelts were worn at the time of the crash. Alcohol nor drugs are considered as a factor in this crash. Karen Bennett was transported by SMCAS Ambulance, to South Bend Memorial Hospital, for her injuries.
Assisting agencies on scene include Niles Township Fire Department and SMCAS Ambulance.
