Two Arrested and Fifteen Cited at Simi Valley DUI Checkpoint
On December 16, 2022, one driver was arrested at a DUI checkpoint for DUI Drugs.
The DUI checkpoint was held at Los Angeles Avenue and Bridget Avenue from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
13 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 690 vehicles were contacted. 1 driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, 1 passenger was arrested for having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle (23223(b) VC), and 1 subject was arrested for other permitting an unlicensed driver to operate a motor vehicle (14604(a) VC).
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
