The County of San Benito Board of Supervisors approves $2.2 million tax advance money to San Benito Health Care District Hazel Hawkins Hospital.
San Benito County- The San Benito County Board of Supervisors held a special meeting on Thursday, December 15, 2022, adopted a resolution granting San Benito Health Care District a temporary fund transfer under article XVI, section 6 of the California Constitution, estimated at $2,243,445.00 as a total amount of approximately 85% tax revenues that the hospital will receive in FY2022/23, and approving a temporary transfer agreement.
The Board of Supervisors also directed staff to help find resources and research other potential options.
Unfortunately, the County is not in a financial position at this time to offer additional funding to alleviate Hazel Hawkins Hospital. We are optimistic that the advancement of funds will help Hazel Hawkins; and provide additional time for them to explore additional opportunities. The County of San Benito will continue to seek support on behalf of the hospital.
