City of Springfield Declares a Snow Emergency
The City of Springfield has declared a Snow Emergency beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022:
- All City facilities will be closed Thursday (12/22), Friday (12/23) and Monday (12/26) in observation of the Christmas holiday.
- Facilities will reopen to the public on Tuesday, December 27th following the Christmas holiday.
- Residential streets may not be plowed until Saturday. If the wind calms down Friday evening, crews may begin snow removal activities sooner.
- Only the Emergency Snow Route will be maintained as able and emergency vehicles will be escorted by plows as needed.

Adjust plans accordingly to prepare for the coming blizzard.
