Winter Weather Advisory until 12:00PM Thursday

* WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. For the Blizzard Warning, blizzard conditions expected. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will produce near white out conditions. For the Wind Chill Warning, dangerously cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low as 45 below zero.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Iowa and southwest Minnesota.

* WHEN...For the Wind Chill Warning, from midnight tonight to noon CST Saturday. For the Winter Weather Advisory, until noon CST Thursday. For the Blizzard Warning, from noon Thursday to 6 PM CST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall is expected to end by late tonight. However, wind gusts up to 45 mph will produce widespread blowing snow which will result in near whiteout conditions beginning on Thursday afternoon. Those with holiday travel plans will want to monitor the forecast closely and adjust plans as necessary. Any person that becomes stranded or trapped outdoors could encounter a life-threatening situation in a short amount of time.
