Byram Township strives to ensure the safety of pedestrians and domestic animals on sidewalks.

As stated in Township Code §213-36, “The owner, occupant, tenant, or lessee of a premises abutting or bordering any street in the Township shall remove all snow, slush, sleet, and ice from the abutting sidewalks of such streets or abutting rights-of-way within 24 hours after the fall of snow or hail or the formation of ice.” 

The Township Zoning office asks that all residents comply with this code to ensure the safety of those utilizing the sidewalk areas.

Failure to comply with township ordinances could result in violation notices and potential summons that could include mandatory court appearances and potential fines of up to $1,000 per day.
