Details: On Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 4:50 pm, Corcoran Police responded to the 1900 block of Fern Drive for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located a male subject suffering from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment but died from his injuries. This case is still under investigation. UPDATE: Through further investigation Corcoran Police Detectives were able to identify Michael Freeman, of Tulare, as a suspect in this case and obtained an arrest warrant for him for 187PC (Murder). On 122022, with the assistance of the Kings County Major Crimes Task Force and Bakersfield Police Department, Freeman was taken into custody in Bakersfield. Freeman has been booked into the Kings County Jail for his warrant and is being held on $5,000,000.00 bail.
