On December 21, 2022, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision on Golf Course Drive West at Labath Avenue. A white GMC utility truck was traveling eastbound on Golf Course Drive West at Labath Avenue, and a black Mercedes sedan was traveling westbound on Golf Course Drive West attempting to turn south onto Labath Avenue. Based on the preliminary investigation, the Merecedes turned in front of the GMC, and the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

When RPDPS arrived at the scene, they found the Mercedes on Golf Course Drive West and the GMC in the ravine on the north side of Golf Course Drive West. Both vehicles had significant front-end damage, and each vehicle was occupied by the drivers only.

RPDPS personnel quickly tended to the injured drivers and rendered life-saving measures to the driver of the Mercedes. The driver of the GMC suffered moderate injuries. Unfortunately, the driver of the Mercedes, a 78-year-old female resident of Rohnert Park, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This collision investigation is ongoing. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected as factors in this collision. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety at (707) 584-2600 and refer to Case #22-5112.
