Hard Freeze Warning until 06:00PM Friday

* WHAT...For the Hard Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 17 expected. For the Hard Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 13 possible. The Hard Freeze Watch for Friday night through Sunday morning will likely be upgraded to a Hard Freeze Warning.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Alabama and southeast Mississippi.

* WHEN...For the Hard Freeze Warning, from midnight Thursday night to 6 PM CST Friday. For the Hard Freeze Watch, from Friday evening through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect a HARD FREEZE beginning over the Warned area late Thursday night, with temperatures falling to below 20 degrees during the overnight hours.

Instructions:

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
