Full Notification

On 12/21/22 at about 6:30 pm, an unknown male suspect entered Macy's department store at the Simi Town Center Mall wearing dark clothing and a dark colored face mask.  He began breaking out jewelry display case glass with what was described as a "pick-axe" style hammer.  After a brief confrontation with bystanders, the suspect fled the location on foot with a dark duffle bag and ran through the mall to a nearby apartment complex.  The suspect was last seen hopping a fence to the apartment complext in the 1500 block of Jefferson Way fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as a possible Hispanic male, 20-30 years old, about 5'06 - 5'09 feet tall and a medium build of about 170 pounds.  He was seen wearing a black hoodie, dark colored pants or jeans, a dark colored face mask and dark colored shoes with white stripes.
