WINTER WEATHER EVENT – Thursday, December 22, 2022
A winter storm event with a mix of precipitation is expected to begin in our area Thursday afternoon (today). Rain should begin today and continue through Friday afternoon. Average rainfall totals are expected to be between 1.5 and 2 inches for the entire event.
During heavy rainfall bands, flooding of roadways may take place. Do NOT attempt to drive or walk through flooded areas.
Temperatures are expected to stay above freezing today into Friday, however they are expected to drop to approximately 12 degrees Friday evening. This drop in temperature will cause wet roadways and standing water to flash freeze.
Winds will increase today through Friday evening to 15-25 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph.
