Blizzard Warning until 06:00PM Friday

* WHAT...For the Wind Chill Warning, dangerously cold wind chills. Wind chills as low as 50 below zero. For the Blizzard Warning, blizzard conditions expected. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. For the Winter Weather Advisory, blowing snow. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Minnesota and central, east central, south central and southeast South Dakota.

* WHEN...For the Wind Chill Warning, until noon CST Saturday. For the Blizzard Warning, from noon CST today until 6 PM CST Friday. For the Winter Weather Advisory, until noon CST today.

* IMPACTS...Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind gusts up to 45 mph will produce blowing snow which will reduce the visibility to less than one mile at times in open areas. Those with holiday travel plans will want to monitor the forecast closely and adjust plans as necessary. Any person that becomes stranded or trapped outdoors could encounter a life- threatening situation in a short amount of time.
