Hazardous Weather Event
The Carlstadt Office of Emergency Management is currently monitoring the upcoming weather expected to impact the area from tonight, Thursday, December 22, 2022, through Saturday, December 24, 2022.
Rain is expected to begin around 1:00 PM today and last until approximately 1:00 PM on Friday. Temperatures are expected to drop to below freezing and snow showers are possible Friday afternoon and night. The drop in temperature could cause the wet roadways to freeze. Winds are expected to be between 17 and 24 MPH with gusts as high as 46 MPH.
The cold weather is expected to continue into Saturday with a high of 22. Wind chills for Friday and Saturday are expected to be between 0 and 17 degrees. As such, shelters and warming centers will be open.
Due to the rain and high winds, flooding and downed trees are possible. Please avoid going through flooded streets or near downed wires. If there is a downed wire, please contact the police department.
Special needs residents are encouraged to contact the Office of Emergency Management at 201-362-1942 for any needed assistance.
We will monitor the situation during the holiday weekend and post updates as appropriate.
