STORMY WEATHER AHEAD 

A potent low pressure system remains on track to bring periods of rain, strong winds, and moderate coastal flooding to Pelham Manor from late tonight into Friday. Blustery cold temperatures will then arrive behind the system late Friday afternoon into the weekend. The NWS predicts 1.5 to 2 inches of rain with rainfall rates of 0.25 to 0.5 inches per hour over the period.
Wind will be a significant factor with this storm. The strongest winds will be from 10:00 tonight until 10:00 tomorrow night. Winds are expected to be between 25 to 35 mph with stronger gusts. Peak winds may occur Friday morning as a potential line of thunderstorms may cross the Village ahead of the cold front. There is a potential for downed trees and powerlines.
Temperatures will drop quickly as the front moves past us tomorrow.
Village DPW staff will be out today checking on catch basins and other drainage facilities. Residents are reminded to ensure that the boxes and paper placed at the curb after 7 pm are either in a secure container or tightly bundled. This will prevent wind blown litter throughout the Village.
