Coastal Flood Warning until 12:00AM Saturday
* WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low- lying areas.
* WHERE...Ocean and Coastal Ocean.
* WHEN...Until midnight EST tonight.
* IMPACTS...Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will be inundated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Water levels have dropped below flood stage across the oceanfront and inlets. As a result, the coastal flood warnings have been allowed to expire for these areas. The exception is Barnegat Bay. Because of the onshore flow we've seen ahead of the Arctic cold front, the bay is not draining. Tidal piling is occurring. As a result, up to two feet of inundation above ground level can still be expected across low-lying areas as we move through the afternoon and into the evening.
* AFFECTED AREAS: OCEAN ... COASTAL OCEAN
Instructions:
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
