Alert for Electrical Conservation.
The BCPD is aware of the below notification from the Burlington County Office of Emergency Management and is monitoring the situation.
There is a potential for rolling power outages in towns within Burlington County. The regional grid operator for 65 million people in 13 states and the District of Columbia has requested the public to conserve their electrical usage from now through 10 a.m. tomorrow, 12/25. This is due to the frigid weather.
If power consumption is not conserved there may be rolling blackouts and your jurisdiction may be affected. These blackouts will last 1-2 hours. This is just as a precaution as of right now and just want you to be informed in case it happens.
The electrical companies and power companies are working diligent on the power grid to restore it to its full capacity. We appreciate the due diligence of the electrical companies working in the low temperatures and this holiday
We hope you have a Happy and Heathy Holiday Season!
